Paula Elizabeth La Belle, 86, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, December 3, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital.Paula was born July 15, 1919, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Otto and Blanche (Patrie) Lund. She married her husband of 58 years, William Warren La Belle, on August 30, 1947, at St. Patrick’s Church in Eau Claire.After a long career working at Uniroyal Rubber Company Paula retired as Administrative Secretary in 1981. She continued working intermittently in retail sales. In addition to outside employment, she was a loving homemaker. She served the community through Parks and Recreation ESL Program, teaching Hmong citizens English. She also was involved in the community through Birthright Pregnancy Service in a counseling and secretarial capacity.Paula was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Parish and volunteer with the Eau Claire Interfaith Hospitality Network.Along with loving her family, Paula was an avid Packer Backer and sports enthusiast, league bowler, bridge player, voracious reader, spirited traveler, and gourmet cook.Paula is survived by: her husband of 58 years, William; three daughters, Renee (Gary) Nickolie of Milwaukee, Wis., Patrice Gjerning of Eau Claire and Toni (Bob) Burger of Menomonie, Wis.; two sons, William P. (Christine) La Belle of Menomonie, Wis., Pierre (Kathi Wheater) La Belle of San Francisco, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna (Bill) Dugaw of Olympia, Wash.; one brother, Thomas Lund of Milwaukee, Wis.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.Paula is preceded in death by her parents; twin granddaughters, Elizabeth and Katy; three brothers, William, Clifford and Jack Lund.There will be a public visitation for relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2005, at the Golden Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., where there will be a 6 p.m. public rosary.Private family services will be on Friday, December 9, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bill Dhein officiating.
