Maillette, Joseph N. -- Bay City, Michigan Joseph N. Maillette, age 89 years, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the home of his son, Paul in Whittier, California. He was born April 11, 1915 to the late Napoleon and Delima (Fortin) Maillette in Bay County, where he resided until 1988 when he went to California to live with his son. Joe was employed with the Thompson Corporation for 38 years and was co-manager of Sheridan Arms Apartments for ten years. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married to the former Madonna Probst, who preceded him in death on July 22, 1985. He is survived by his five children: Linda (Eugene) Kulas of Herndon, VA, David (Judith) Maillette of Essexville, Douglas Maillette of Bay City, Paul (Joyce) Maillette of Whittier, CA, Paula (Michael) Sowinski of Bay City; ten grandchildren: Craig, Chad (Jacqueline), Chuck Kulas, Matthew (Melissa), Amanda Maillette, Jason (Rachelle), Casey Sowinski, Tasha, JP, Dakota Maillette; four great-grandchilden: Andrew, Irish, Anna and Ellie; his sister, Eva Majeske of Bay City; his brother, Nelson (Barbara) Maillette of Linwood; and many nieces and nephews; five sisters-in-law: Mary and Dolores Maillette, Virginia Probst, Elsie (Clark) McLaren, Ila Corrion. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his three brothers and one sister: Theodore, Edward, Bill Maillette, and Adeline Wirth. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Rev. Dale A. Orlik will preside and interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery with military rites under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Memorial contributions may be directed to Odyssey Health Care Hospice Program of California or St. Joseph Church, Bay City. The Vigil Prayer Service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Trahan Chapel. Visiting hours with the family will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the W.A.
