Carl J. MALENFANT

CHEBOYGAN - Carl J. Malenfant, age 98 of Cheboygan passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 at Tendercare of Cheboygan.He was born March 4, 1907 in Cheboygan to Fred and Caroline (Schley) Malenfant. Carl was employed at the Cheboygan State Savings Bank (National City) for many years as a record keeper retiring in 1969. He was a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography and playing his guitar.Survivors include his sister, Gerry Malenfant of Cheboygan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight brothers, Myrt, Harry, Frank, George, Fred, Paul, Edward and Leo; and three sisters, Bertha LaCross, Marie Malenfant and Kate LaHaie.Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 16, 2005, at the Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan. The funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church, with additional visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. The Rev. Paul Megge will serve as celebrant and interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the spring.Memorial contributions may be directed to Tendercare of Cheboygan or the Bell Tower Fund at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church.
