MANDEVILLE -- David "Dave" J. Mandeville, MSGT USAF Retired, age 82, passed away at his home, November 6, 2005 after his battle with prostate and bone cancer. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1945 and worked for the United States Postal Service for 28 years. Dave attended several years of higher education at the University of New Mexico. He enlisted in the Reserve Corps in 1942 and served as a private with the U.S. Army Air Corps until 1946. Dave was in active service from 1951 to 1952 as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, then active again from 1967 to 1969. He retired from the New Mexico Air National Guard as a Master Sergeant in 1983. He loved to talk about his glory days serving in the military and he was an avid contributor to many environmental causes. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mandeville, and he is survived by his daughter, Maria Fitzgerald and husband, Patrick of Albuquerque; step-son, Paul Shoemaker and wife, Marissa of Carlsbad; step-daughter, Lou Ann Schaller of Bridgman, MI; grandchildren, Mark and Melinda Schaller, Eric and Brian Fitzgerald, Machaon and Faith Shoemaker. The visitation and Services will be held at the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel on Thursday, November 10, 2005. The viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 p.m., concluded with the burial.
