ITHACA - Robert B. Marcoux, 67, of 206 Christopher Lane, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at his home. He was born in Bristol, CT, son of the late Charles and Barbara Marcoux, and was also predeceased by his mother, Margaret Marcoux, who raised him following the death of his birth mother, who died five days after Bob was born.Bob was a graduate of Bryant College and served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Ithaca Typewriter from 1970 until 1995. After selling his business, he worked as a sales manager for Staples.Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Margaret O'Malley Marcoux; his son, Robert B. (Janine) Marcoux, Jr. of Pittsburgh; daughters, Sarah (John) Thompson of Marblehead, MA and Mollie (Andrew) Samaan of New York City; and his grandchildren, Hannah, Lilly and Aurora Marcoux, Charlie, William, Sam, Christopher and Matthew Thompson and Madeline Samaan. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles (Kathryn) Marcoux of Block Island, RI, Jerald (Grace) Marcoux and Dennis (Jeanne) Marcoux, all of Bristol, CT, and Joseph Marcoux of Hartford, CT; his brother-in-law, John (Pat) O'Malley of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Mahler on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Tuesday at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Olean, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be directed to the Tompkins Girls Hockey Association, (THGA), 421 Highland Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
