OBITUARY CHARLES ARTHUR SHERIDAN M.D., F.R.C.S (C). 1916 - 2004 After a lengthy illness borne with faith and courage at the Royal Victoria Hospital on November 28, 2004. Beloved husband of Irene Rowley. Devoted father of Thomas, Sylvia (Louis Robayo), Margaret (Michael Glynn) and the late Peter (Joelle Desparmet). Dear grandfather of Sarah (Chris Kennedy), Kate, Daniel, Joseph, Christopher and the late Alexandra. Brother of John and the late Rita. Uncle of Anne (John Howe). Will be remembered by his great-nieces and great-nephews. Arthur was born on a farm in Hastings County, Ontario. He attended Queen's Medical School from which he graduated in 1947. He began his medical career as a general practitioner in Sarnia, Ontario, where he met his future wife, Irene. In 1953 he began his specialty training in anaesthesia at McGill University. He practiced with utmost devotion to his patients at the Montreal Children's and the Royal Victoria Hospital. He was also for a time head of the department of anaesthesia at the Shriner's Hospital. He was a pioneer in cardiac anaesthesia in the 1950's in Montreal. Another of his passions was his lake home in the Laurentians with his family. Funeral Mass at Parish of Annunciation Church (corner Laird and Alexander) on Wednesday December 1 at 11 a.m. The family will receive condolences at the church half an hour prior to the Mass.
