Madeline F. Bernard, 87, of Manchester, NH, died June 23, 2005, at Elliot Hospital, after a period of failing health. Born in Manchester, NH on June 18, 1918, she was the daughter of Patrick and Ellen (O’Connor) McCarthy. She was a lifelong resident of the city. Before her retirement, Mrs. Bernard was a skein winder with Pandora Industries for many years. She was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church. Mrs. Bernard will be remembered as a loving and devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading. She was married to Arthur Bernard who died September 3, 1989. She was also predeceased by a son, John Bernard. Family members include two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Judith A.) Boisvert of Holiday, Florida and Mrs. Ronald (Muriel F.) Lacey of Auburn, NH; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.. Services: Calling hours are Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation center, 537 Union Street, corner of Concord Street, Manchester, NH. The funeral will be held Monday at 9:15am from the funeral home, followed by a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Augustin-Saint Anne Church, Manchester, NH.
