FALMOUTH - Joseph C. Morin, 80, a longtime Falmouth resident, died Friday at Harborside Healthcare. He was the husband of the late Hope (Cheverie) Morin. Mr. Morin was born in Saco, Maine, and was raised and educated on Nantucket. After high school he served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He then moved to Falmouth and was a commercial fisherman out of New Bedford and Woods Hole. He had a lifelong love of the ocean, enjoyed hunting, and was a member of Midway Trap & Skeet Club, Falmouth Elks and American Legion. Survivors include a son, Stephen D. Morin of Dover, Del.; two sisters, Joanne Cranston and Claire Valar, both of Florida; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of Donald K. Morin, who died in 2003. A memorial service will be at a later date.
