Louis A. Morin, 77, Brecknock Township, died Sept. 23 at 6:25 a.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Sept. 11.He was the husband of Elaine E. (Smale) Morin.Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Louis F. and Alice A. (Letourneu) Morin.Morin had been employed for 40 years as a conductor and brake man by Reading Railroad, later Conrail Corp., retiring in 1991.While working in the rail industry, he served as past chairman, secretary and treasurer of Local 386, United Transportation Union, and was vice president of the union's Northeast Corridor.Morin was a member of St. John Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and received his pilot's license from Penn State University.Morin was a Navy veteran of World War II.He is also survived by two daughters, Constance J. (Morin) Glahn, Brecknock Township, and Christine A. (Morin) Hatt, Wernersville.Other survivors include a brother, Frank F., Tempe, Ariz., and a sister, Virginia M. (Morin) Hall, Shillington.There are also five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de La Salle RC Church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
