Alda (Moutinho) Cyr, age 49, of Monroe, entered into rest unexpectedly with her loving family by her side on Saturday, December 17, 2005, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, after a year long battle with Lung Cancer. Born in Bridgeport, on February 11, 1956, she was the youngest of nine. She resided in Bridgeport for 30 years, where she attended Bridgeport Public schools, married and had three children. She then moved to Monroe with her family in 1986. Alda was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, sister and a great friends to many. Survivors include her beloved and devoted husband, Keith Cyr, who unselfishly in this past year has dedicated his life in providing her with such great care, compassion and love more than anyone could have asked for. She is also survived by her three daughters, Genevieve and Eva, both of Bridgeport, and Andrea and her husband, Tony Rizio, of Shelton; her seven loving brothers and sisters, Natalie LaCroix of Stratford, Domingos Moutinho of Trumbull, Manuel Moutinho and his wife, Winifred, of Easton, Lucia Reddy of Monroe, Jack Moutinho and his wife, Susan, of Monroe, Julia DeOliveira and her husband, Jack, of Monroe, and Frank Moutinho of Monroe; and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Albertina Moutinho; and a sister, Lina Moutinho. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at 9 a.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, at 10 a.m. in St. Jude's Church, 707 Monroe Tpke., Monroe, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment to be announced. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home. The family requested donations be made to St. Vincent's Medical Center Oncology Unit, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606 in memory of Alda. Published in the Connecticut Post on 12/19/2005.
