LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Matilda Mouton, 88, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, in Port Arthur, Texas. The Rev. Thomas James, SVD will be the celebrant of the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.She leaves to mourn on son, Herbert Mouton, of Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Ida Dugas, of Port Arthur, Texas and Mary Lee Jackson, of Rayne, La.;four brothers, Ernest Mouton, William Mouton and Enis Mouton, all of Rayne, La., and Brooke Mouton, of Eunice, La.; a devoted niece, Geraldine Phillips who cared for her before she moved to Port Arthur, Texas, to live with her devoted sister, Ida Dugas, who took care of all her special needs until her death. Also survived by nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Mouton;two sons, Joseph and Dalton Mouton;one sister, Agnes Sinegal McZeal; mother, Ella Stevens; father, John Mouton; niece, Gladys Comeaux Perot. Visitation will be observed today, Dec. 30,2005, at Syrie Funeral Home from 7 a.m. until time of services.Syrie Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
