COTE, Mrs. Sandra K. -- Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Gun Lake -- Passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Lillian, Alabama. Sandy was born in Kalamazoo, Dec. 13, 1940, the daughter of Francis & Nellie (Smith) Newlun. She was a 1958 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and a member of North Presbyterian Church. On Sept. 9, 1960, she married Donald C. Cote. She was involved in several businesses with her husband, including Dairy Isle on South Burdick, The Dawg-On-Inn in Parchment, and Whispering Pines Resort and Circle Inn Restaurant on Gun Lake. She enjoyed shopping and traveling in her motor home. She is survived by her husband; two children, Karen (Douglas) Nash of Wayland and Robert (Amy) Cote of Portage; five grandchildren, Lisa, Joseph, Ashley and Brandie Nash, and Brieann Cote; a great- granddaughter, Trinity Simon; her sister, Judith (Ken) Mueller of Watertown, Wi; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Donald (Valerie) Cote of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Newlun of Lillian, Alabama; a brother-in-law, Jack Boykin of Parchment; a sister-in-law, Diane (Roger) Van Dyke of Richland; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Sally and Donna Newlun and Patricia Boykin; and her brother, Jack Newlun. Services will be held 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Rasmussen officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever Rest Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. The family will be at the funeral home to meet with relatives and friends from 6 to 8 Monday evening.JOLDERSMA & KLEIN917 S.
