Laurent A. NOEL

Laurent A. Noel, 77, of Nashua, died Friday, December 16, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Noel was born in Nashua on May 25, 1928, a son of the late Arthur & Emelia (Fortin) Noel. He was the devoted husband of Rita (Bechard) Noel. Mr. Noel was a lifelong resident of Nashua and was educated in local schools. Mr. Noel had been employed by Nashua Fire Rescue and retired as the Assistant Superintendent of the Fire Alarm Division. He served as president of the Fire Relief Association, and he also served the Nashua District Court as a Bail Commissioner for more than 30 years. Mr. Noel had an affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America and was awarded the St. George Award as well as the Bronze Pelican Award. He had a long history of working with youth, and was affiliated with Camp Doucet for more than 40 years, helping to develop the property into a very functional facility. He spent many peaceful years there. Mr. Noel was a WWII Army veteran serving during the occupation of Japan. He was a communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church. Mr. Noel was predeceased by a daughter, Denise R. Noel, TWO SISTERS, Camille Davis and Rachel Vezina and three brothers, Paul Noel, Maurice Noel and Bernard Noel. Besides his wife of 55 years, Mr. Noel is survived by; Two sons & daughters-in-law; Raymond & Jackie Noel of Bedford and Leon & Priscilla Noel of Hudson; One daughter & son-in-law; Marie & Bryan Riddell of Bedford; Six grandchildren; Taylor, Brandon, Michael, Timothy, Ashley and Jocelyn; Also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: NOEL: Died Friday, December 16, 2005 in Nashua. Laurent A. Noel, 77, of Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday in St. Louis de Gonzague Church at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 PM in the Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua.
