Marten, Nadine Normandin -- Born February 19, 1917 in Long Beach, CA. Died peacefully at her home on December 16, 2005. Nadine attended UCLA and was prominent in the fashion industry as a buyer for the Broadway Dept. Stores later as Vice President of Advertising - Publicity- Promotion for Catalina Swimwear and Sportswear. After her retirement she devoted her time to charitable activities, serving as President of The Muses and on the national board of ARCS, reflecting her keen interest in furthering the scientific education of children. She is survived by her beloved husband John "Jack" Marten, Jr.; her daughter Wendy Riley; step-son John Marten III, his wife Dawn; granddaughters Cindy Conant, Amber Riley; grandson Dugan Riley; great-grandchildren Cynthia and Mellissa Conant, Ciera Trujillo, Krista and Kevin Riley; step-grandchildren Katie Marten, John Marten IV and Evan Marten. Burial was private. Memorial services are pending. Contributions may be made to The Muses at California Science Center 700 State Drive L.A., CA 90037.
