AUGUSTA -- Pauline Cote, 86, of Court Street, died peacefully on Dec. 29, 2005. She was born in Calais on June 26, 1919, the daughter of John E. O'Hara and Louise (Armstrong) O'Hara.Mrs. Cote was a homemaker for most of her life. She and her husband, Lawrence F. Cote, raised a family of six children.Mrs. Cote was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, a former member of St. Mary's PTA, Christian Family Movement and St. Mary's Women's Club. She volunteered at the Augusta Mental Health Institute library and later at St. Mary's School library.She was known for her wit, wisdom and warmth.Mrs. Cote was an avid reader and enjoyed "card night," as well as visits with Bill.She was predeceased by her husband on March 5, 2004.Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Gayle Trial and her husband, Larry, of Augusta, Jean Ellen Abbott of Augusta and Karen Marcia MacGillivary and her husband, Andrew, of Augusta; three sons, the Rev. Col. David Cote, Air Force chaplain stationed in Dover, Del., Lauren James Cote of Augusta and Kenneth Jon Cote and his wife, Julie Fallon, of Tacoma, Wash.; one brother, Thomas O'Hara and his wife, Ilene, of Calais; one sister, Winifred Wysocki of Bradenton, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Kimber-leigh McArthur and her husband, Ryan, Kelley Sayers and her husband, David, Jennifer Provencal and her husband, Frank, Jacob and Erika MacGillivary, Jayson and Victoria Abbott, and Micah and James Cote; seven great-grandchildren, Shaughnessey and Shea-leigh McArthur, Alexander, Kellsey and Makenzie Sayers, and Abigail and Kyle Provencal; and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.Spring burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Manchester.
