Mary Rivard, 82, Argyle, MN, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN surrounded by her family. Mary Gertrude Osowski was born on March 17, 1923 in Oak Park Twp., Marshall County, MN, the daughter of John & Helen (Mager) Osowski. She was raised in rural Oslo where she attended 33 West Country School. On June 1, 1942, she married Donald Rivard. They made their home in rural Argyle where they farmed. In her later years, she enjoyed wintering in Texas and Arizona. Mary moved to Parkwood Place in Grand Forks, ND in 2002 and to the Good Samaritan Center in 2004. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle. Mary loved to take care of and spend time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing and snowmobiling. Left to mourn her passing are two sons and daughters-in-law; Roger and Pat Rivard and Royal and Karen Rivard, all of Argyle, MN, six grandchildren; Rita Rivard, Nicole (Scott) Groven, Aaron Rivard, Ryan (Kari) Rivard, Bradley Rivard and Ross Rivard, three great-grandchildren; Josie Rivard, Ellie Rivard and Madelyn Groven, two brothers; John (Blanche) Osowski and Leo ""Tony' Osowski, both of Oslo, MN, four sisters-in-law, Agnes Osowski of Grafton, ND, Eleanor Osowski of Oslo, MN, Evelyn Osowski of Grafton, ND and Jane Osowski of Oslo, MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Shirley, sister, Rose Kosmatka and five brothers; Harry, Henry, Joe, Theodore and Frank. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN. Visitation: one hour before services in the church.
