Laura C. PAGE

Laura C. DeLage, 87, of Crookston, Minnesota, died Sunday afternoon, August 28, 2005, in the Riverview Care Center in Crookston, with her family at her side. Laura was born at rural Gentilly, Minnesota on September 19, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Helena (Scharmer) Page. She grew up on the family farm, was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Gentilly, and attended country school. On July 10, 1939 Laura was united in marriage to Louis Francis DeLage at St. Peter's. The couple first made their home near Gentilly before moving to Crookston. The family later moved to Aurora, Minnesota and then to Pierre, South Dakota. Sadly, Louis passed away on April 14, 1960. Laura then returned to Crookston to make her home, and was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parish. Her greatest joy, and reason for living a long and wonderful life, was to hear the laughter and see the smiles of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very grateful for the love and support she received from all of her family and her many friends. Laura will be very deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Shereen and Mike Lanctot of St. Augusta, MN; three sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Bev DeLage of Crookston, MN, Darrel and Kathy DeLage of Aurora, MN, and Ronald and Pam DeLage of Crookston; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; four sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Besides her husband, Louis, Laura was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Joshua Lanctot; three sisters; and two brothers. The funeral service for Laura DeLage will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2005, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, with the Rev. Tim Bushy, presiding. Visitation will be at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service, and at the church for one hour before the service.
