Beatrice PAUL

BIDDEFORD - Beatrice Gregoire, 94, of Biddeford, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 at her home. She was born April 23, 1911 in Biddeford, the only child of John and Corinne Hevey Paul and was educated at Mt. Merici Academy in Waterville, graduating in 1929. A devoted wife and mother, Beatrice loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home and heart were always open to all. It was not uncommon to find the insurance man or the oil delivery man eating dinner with the family. Over the years, she took in many people who needed a place to stay or a helping hand. Mrs. Gregoire was known to be an accomplished pianist and an outstanding cook, but was also very active outside her home. Beatrice served as vice president of the Rochambeau Club and for several terms as president of the Ross Center. She was a line dancing teacher and was one of the originators of the Ross Center Rockettes. She was a member of St. Andre's Church and was also involved as a captain for the funeral luncheon program there. In her retirement, she and her husband spent 15 years wintering in Bradenton, Fla. She described these years as sweet. Beatrice was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Wilfred J. Gregoire in 2000; a son, Jean Lamb in 1980; and a great grandson, Matthew Bushey in 2005. Surviving are three daughters, Mignonne Lamb of Saco, Joan Brooks of Biddeford, and Carolyn Camire and her husband Renald of Biddeford; a son, Francis Gregoire and his wife Judy of Biddeford; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday at St. Andre's Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford.
