PORTSMOUTH — Myra A. (Bobbie) Moreau, 97, of 245 Middle St., went to be with her Lord on Feb. 20, 2005, at the Edgewood Centre. She was born April 6, 1907, in South Eliot, Maine, the daughter of Willard F. and Ella M. (Staples) Paul. She attended Eliot, Maine schools, and graduated from Charlestown, Mass. High School, Class of 1924, after her father was transferred from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard to the Boston (Charlestown) Shipyard. After marrying her first husband, Dallas D. Davis and raising three loving children, she worked at a variety of jobs in the Seacoast area, such as J.J. Newberry, an LPN at Portsmouth Hospital, an operator and dispatcher for City Cab, “Huddy’s” On The Rocks Restaurant in Kittery, King’s Department Store and her last place of employment was with Liggett’s Rexall Drug Store as a bookkeeping clerk. In 1968, she moved to Center Ossipee with her second husband, Carlton Moreau, and re-mained there until 1972, when they moved to Florida. While in Florida, she was very active in sev-eral organizations and churches, singing in many choirs. She lived in Florida until the death of her husband, Carl, in 1991, at which time she returned to Portsmouth. She had lived at the Margeson Apartments since 1992 and kept very active in volunteer work for various organizations. She was a member of American Legion Aux 6, AARP, RSVP, Senior Friends (H2U), and the Golden Age Club. She enjoyed being with people, especially at Edgewood Centre and helped with bingo on Tuesdays. She loved life and everything about it. Dancing and singing was a passion as she was an avid music lover. She was happy to dress up and clown around in costumes for the holiday or occa-sion. She played bingo twice a week and played cards with friends nightly. Her family and friends will greatly miss her infectious smile and fun-loving personality. Survivors include her daughters, Paula A. Barrett and her husband, Leroy, of Greenland, Maura L. Young of Jackson, N.J.; son Darryl D. Davis and his wife, Marie, of Quechee, Vt.; 10 grandchil-dren; 23 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; a grand-niece, Judith May of Rochester; and a grand-nephew, Frank Doughty of Waterboro, Maine.She was predeceased by her first husband, Dallas D. Davis; second husband, Carlton L. Moreau; and her sister, Mildred Durgin.Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Middle Street Baptist Church in Portsmouth. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833 or to the NH-SPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham NH 03885.
