Usy "Black" Pellegrin, 72, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, died at 1:17 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, with his family by his side.Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.He is survived by his wife, Tina Breaux Pellegrin; two sons, Mark "Tony" Pellegrin, Jimmy Pellegrin and wife, Helen, of Houston; two daughters, Gina Oubre and husband, Jules, and Kim Hebert and husband, Steve, of Houma; two brothers, Daniel "Butch" Pellegrin and Eugene "Skip" Pellegrin of Chauvin; one sister, Barbara Carlos of Chauvin; two grandsons, Jeffrey Hebert and Brent Oubre; three granddaughters, Michelle Oubre Benoit, Jenny Hebert and Shellie Cantrelle.He was preceded in death by his parents, Usy Joseph Pellegrin and Linda Theriot Pellegrin; two brothers, David and Donald Pellegrin; and one sister, Bella Authement.He was a dedicated pharmacist for 50 years, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of Loyola University and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Bernadette Catholic Church.Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
