Robert PELLISSIER

Robert Pellissier passed away March 9, 2005, at the age of 89. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Richardson of Tonapah, Nev.; son, Robin Pellissier of Apple Valley, Calif.; daughter, Sharon Quarashi of Pleasonton, Calif.; son, Dennis Bambauer of Redding, Calif.; granddaughter, Savannah Pellissier and grandson, Garrett Pellissier of Apple Valley, Calif., and several nieces and cousins, all of Southern Nevada and the Owens Valley-Bishop area. Being fifth generation in that region, it has often been said that half of Southern Nevada and the Bishop area were related to Bob in some manner.Bob was born on the Bertrand Ranch (Benton, Calif.) on Nov. 8, 1915. The Owens Valley was his home, along with his wife of 53 years, Ruth Pellissier (who passed away in April 1998). Bob had done it all Ñ cowboy, dairyman, laborer and finally, retiring from Southern California Edison after 30-plus years of service. He was an avid sportsman, hunting and fishing the Eastern Sierras along with his dedication to public service and helping others. Bob was a member of the Inyo Rural Fire District and a Bishop volunteer fireman for 62 years, retiring in his late 70s as an engineer. Bob also drove the only ambulance in the Owens Valley for many years, all of this as a volunteer. BobÕs life can be highlighted by giving and doing for others as his reward was the Ògift of givingÓ and was always ready to help his friends or stranger. To him, there was no distinction. The remaining few years he lived in Apple Valley for medical reasons and to be near his immediate family. Living here for the duration of his life brought him much joy, in as much as he could see and interact with his grandchildren on a daily basis. He was and shall always be a true Òcountry gentleman.Ó Never failing to thank anyone whom he came in contact with, always trying to help. His life spanned the bulk of the 20th century and he will be missed by all who loved him and the lives he touched. Memorial services will be held at Brune and Buck Mortuary on March 19 at 10 a.m. in Bishop, Calif. He will be laid to rest at the Pioneer Cemetery in the family plot, spanning many generations.The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Bishop Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
