PEPIN, Richard "Dick" Arthur, 70, of Hudson, died Saturday, December 24, 2005, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson. He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., and moved to New Port Richey in 1968 from Stamford, Conn., and to Hudson from New Port Richey in 1974. He retired as the owner, operator and publisher of Greybook Publishing in Stamford, Conn. He previously was a junior high school teacher at North Junior High School in Pittsfield, Mass., for several years. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hudson. He is survived by his brother, Doug Pepin of Crossville, Tenn.; and sister, Sandra Campoli of Pittsfield, Mass. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Choquette Pepin; and son, Conall Pepin. Born in Dalton on Sept. 10, 1935, son of Arthur L. and Ruth Watkins Pepin, he graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1953 and cum laude from Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Md., in 1958. He also earned a degree from the former North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and a master's degree, cum laude, from Gettysburg College. Mr. Pepin taught at the former North Junior High School, now Reid Middle School, from 1958 to 1961. From 1961 to 1962, he taught school in Covina, Calif. From 1962 to 1963, he attended the University of California at Los Angeles as a graduate student in history. He held an assistantship there and was elected to Pi Gamma Mu. In 1965, he joined Harper & Row in Los Angeles and was appointed history editor for its college department in 1968. He then resided in Connecticut, where he was the owner/publisher of Greylock Publishing in Stamford. He moved to Florida in 1974. While in Pittsfield, he was a communicant of St. Mary's Church; in Hudson, he was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church. He leaves a sister, Sandra Campoli of Pittsfield, and a brother, Douglas Pepin of Crossville, Tenn. He was predeceased by his former wife, Sandra Choquette Pepin, and by his son, Conall Pepin.
