SCHUYLERVILLE -- Robert J. Periard, 79, a resident of Monument Drive, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital. Born July 29, 1926, in Victory Mills, he was the son of Emil and Mary Farrell Periard.Bob was a Navy veteran of World War II and was the recipient of the American Theatre Medal, the Victory Medal and the European Theatre Medal with three stars. He was a member of Liberty Post No. 515 American Legion and VFW Post No. 7291 in Greenwich, Lodge No. 81 BPOE in Glens Falls, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Saratoga Springs and the David Nevins Fire Department Auxiliary and was a past member of the Schuyler Hose Co.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Rose Periard, a brother, James Periard, a sister, Edna Carey, and a grandson, Demetrius McKenney.Survivors include his son, Mark Periard and his wife, Devon, of Smithfield, Maine; daughter, Terri Richards and her husband, Patrick, of Schuylerville; his companion Mary Martinovich of Schuylerville; nine grandchildren, Scott Periard, Durche and Dominic McKenney, Charity Johanson, Delia McKenney and Brian, Eric, Crystal and Alisa Richards; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, with the Rev. Joyce deVelder officiating.Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Notre Dame Cemetery.Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.Memorials may be made in his memory to the Schuyler Hose Co., 35 Spring St., Schuylerville; the David Nevins Fire Department, P.O. Box 78, Victory Mills; or the General Schuyler Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 111, Schuylerville.
