Rita (Petrello) La Porte, 88, of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away Oct. 21, 2005. She was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Pittston, Pa., to the late Mamie Shard Petrello and Ralph Petrello. Rita resided in Pennsylvania for most of her life and moved to Fairbanks in 1976. She was employed in the business office of Dr. Walt Babula for 20 years. Since 1978, Rita spent part of her winters in Las Vegas. She will be missed by her husband, of 67 years, John; daughter, Marita and son-in-law, Dr. Walt Babula of Fairbanks, Alaska, with whom she resided; sister, Esther Petrello of Edwardsville, Pa.; brother, James Petrello of Quakertown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Rita will be greatly missed as she was a loyal wife, wonderful mother and great buddy to her son-in-law. No services are scheduled. Arrangements were made by International Funeral Homes, Inc.
