James “Jimmy” Pichette, 78, of De Pere, went to meet his Heavenly Father on Jan. 18, 2005, surrounded by his loving family.Jimmy lived most of his life in De Pere where he and his wife Bev raised nine children. Jimmy served his country in World War II. During his 78 years of life, he wore many hats: working on his uncle’s farm, driving truck, and working at Nicolet Paper Mill. He also owned his own pub. He loved to golf and watch the Green Bay Packers. But above all he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grand children.Jimmy was met at the gates of heaven by his mother and father, Frank and Nellie Pichette; his brothers, Eugene, Norbert and Billy Pichette; his sisters Rose Ann (Wally) Donavan, Mary Ann (Jack) Tong, Sylvia (Cliff) Renier, Nancy Franckowiak, and Gen (Ed) Paul.Left here on earth to cherish the memories of Jimmy are his wife Bev and their family: Mike (Cherie) Pichette, Sturgeon Bay; Pat Pichette (Kelly Prosek), Pulaski; Geno (Betsy) Pichette, Shorewood; Susie (Jerry) Olmsted, De Pere; Jim “Bimbo” Pichette, Sturgeon Bay; Peggy Pichette, Sturgeon Bay; Carol (Tom) Kros, De Pere; Chris Damas, De Pere; Mary Beth Pichette, DePere. His grandchildren, Adam Pichette, (Linnea Brunstrom fiancee), Kirsten (Pete) Marto, Melissa (Matt) Interbartolo, Megan Pichette (Mike Anderson), Patrick (Brenda) Pichette, Paige Prosek, Nick, Marie and Mitchell Olmsted, Jackie, Chas, Leslie and Daniel Pichette, T.J., Andrew, Matthew and Connor Kros, and Hannah Damas. Great-grand children are Wil, Sam, Ethan, Emma, Lucca, Charlie and Preston.Jimmy will be deeply missed by his four remaining sisters, Sally Benz, New York, Jane Quinette, De Pere, Joan (Ron) Berken, De Pere, Vonnie (Larry) McQuade, De Pere, his in-laws; Gladys, wife of his brother Norbert, and Bernard (Ben) husband of Nancy.Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at St. Mary Catholic Community on Pope John XXIII Circle off Sportsman’s Drive, town of Ledgeview, until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Charles Macco, officiating. Entombment in Allouez Mausoleum.The family would like to thank the staff at San Luis for their wonderful care and thoughtfulness during this difficult time.
