Hala Lynn Pilon, 60, of Collinsville, died Sunday, (December 18, 2005) at John Dempsey Hospital. She was born November 27, 1945 in Georges Mills, NH, daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Nielsen) Pilon and had lived in Simsbury prior to moving to Collinsville three years ago. Hala was a member of Eastern Star, Simsbury Historical Society, and DAR. Ms. Pilon graduated from Missouri Valley College with a degree in Fine Arts and Teaching. She painted and taught art for many years and had recently authored a book, which is in the process of being edited and expected to be published soon. Hala was well known for her work with young people and was always available to help with their instruction of art. She will be missed. She is survived by two brothers, Bruce Pilon of Danielsville, GA and Dr. Robert Pilon of Rye, NH; and a sister, Beverly Pilon of Farmington. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be celebrated Thursday, December 22, 1 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Burlington, Route 4, Burlington with the Rev. Wendell Taylor officiating. Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton has charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 2550 US Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ, 08902-4301.Published in the Hartford Courant on 12/21/2005.
