Ronald Pilotte Sr. -- St. Anne -- Ronald J. "Bud" Pilotte Sr., 79, of St. Anne, died Saturday (Nov. 26, 2005) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. wake service, at Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church. Rev. James Fanale will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Pilotte owned St. Anne Bottle Gas, Bud's Plumbing and Heating and Rural Supply Co. He was born Aug. 28, 1926, in Fowler, Ind., the son of Clifford and Margaret Saindon Pilotte. He served on the St. Anne High School Board of Education, where he was president for several years. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served as a motor mechanic and underwater demolition man. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the church choir. He was also a member of Rotary International, the Knights of Columbus and the St. Anne American Legion. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ann Saathoff, whom he married Sept. 4, 1947 at St. Anne Catholic Church; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Daniel Pilotte of Bolingbrook, Ronald and Michele Pilotte of Momence, Dennis Pilotte of Madison, Wis., Brian and Diane Pilotte of St. Anne; three daughters and one son-in-law, Diana Meehan of Vail, Colo., Cindy and Bill Marion of Jacksonville, Ark., Carole Pilotte of Flossmoor; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eulalie and Ed Barman of Demotte, Ind., Margaret Minnich of Michigan; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Deceased are one brother, Clifford Pilotte; and one sister, Jean Lamb.
