LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Fri- day, Oct. 28, 2005, for Marcie Patricia "Trish" Plauché who died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, in Lafayette, peacefully in her home sur- rounded by her loved ones.The Rev. Robie Robichaux, JCL, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Readers will be Karen Rambin and Cindy Richards. Gift bearers will be Jenny Dro- net, Linda Hollier and Gayle Re- gan.Interment will take place at Holy Mary, Mother of God Ceme- tery.Trish was born in Lake Charles and was the daughter of Martha "Marcie" Rich and Wade Plauché Sr. She graduated from St. Charles Academy in Lake Charles, earned her B. S. degree from Louisiana State University, and went on to earn a Master's and a Specialist degree from the University of Southwestern Lou- isiana. Her professional career included work at Marksville Middle School, James Stephens Elementary in Ville Platte and Delcambre High School. Since 1991 until her recent retirement, she worked at Carencro Middle School, first as a teacher and then as the school's curriculum coordinator. She served on sev- eral state and local curriculum committees and was selected as a Lafayette Parish Middle School Teacher of the Year.She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and served as a Eucharist Minister and a greeter. As the Junior Beta sponsor at Delcambre High School and Carencro Middle School, she spearheaded yearly fundraisers for various philan- thropies. She also served as a volunteer for the American Can- cer Society.Trish was dearly loved by her family and friends. Her positive and upbeat attitude inspired all those around her. Her daughters and grandchildren were the joy of her life. She recently returned to a love of dancing and became involved with Cajun and zydeco dancing. Her zydeco dancing partners, especially John Du- plant, became a strong support group for Trish during her ill- ness and to them she expressed her heartfelt gratitude.Survivors include her moth- er, Martha Plauché; two daugh- ters, Stephanie LeDoux Engel- hardt and Michelle LeDoux Dou- cet; sons-in-law, Brian Engel- hardt and Pratt Doucet; two grandchildren, Trevor and Julia Doucet; her sister, Renee Nesper and her husband, Dave; three brothers and their spouses, Dr. Wade and Ginger Plauché, Dan and Frances Plauché, Guy Rich and Marcia Plauché; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, Wade Plauché Sr.Pallbearers will be John Du- plant, Ted Couvillion, Jed Ab- shire, Pratt Doucet, Dan Plau- ché, Beau Radford, Brian Engel- hardt and Rich Plauché.Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Wade Plauché, Dana Judice, Karen Rambin, Cindy Richards, Joan Broussard, Marlene Bou- dreaux, Cheryl Martin, Rosalie Waldrop and Vivian Adams.The family requests visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and will con- tinue from 8 a.m. Friday to time of service.A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today in the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.
