Marie A. POITRAS

CHARLTON -- Marie A. (Poitras) Surprenant, 90, of 1 Meadowview Drive,died Dec. 29, 2004, in Hubbard Regional Hospital, Webster.Her husband, Eugene J. Surprenant, died in 1981. She leaves three sons,Raymond Surprenant of West Warren, Robert Surprenant of Natick andGeorge Surprenant of Comanche, Iowa; one daughter, Therese Papineau ofWare; two sisters, Jeannette Loranger of Sturbridge and Louise Madelleof Spencer; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.The daughter of Elizear and Delvina (Branconnier) Poitras, she was bornin Spencer and had lived in Charlton since 1962.For many years, Mrs. Surprenant worked at the Kingsbury Heel Co.,retiring many years ago. A member of St. Joseph's Church, she was activewith the Charlton Senior Center. She enjoyed bingo and playing cardswith her family.The funeral was from the Robert J. Miller-Charlton Funeral Home, with aMass in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be at a later date in WestRidge Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to any local Alzheimer's supportgroup.
