Virginia Mae Powley Dugas, age 84, passed away Thursday October 20, 2005. She was born in Hoopeston, Illinois on October 3, 1921 to Harold J. & Lorena (Livingston) Powley. After graduating from high school, Virginia worked at Marshall Fields in Chicago. After the war she moved to Florida where she met and married her husband, Norman. She worked on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Florida. She moved to San Antonio in 1952 with her husband so he could pursue a career in the construction industry. Virginia was a faithful member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Norman; son, Norman T. Dugas Jr. and wife Beverly; grandchildren, Jeff and Laura Dugas; brothers, Larry and Gerald Powley; sisters, Doris Nussear and Dorothy Schwartz; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday October 23, 2005 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. Monday October 24, 2005 at St. John's United Methodist Church, located at 2002 Bandera Road, with Rev. Ken F. Sellers Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
