AUGUSTA -- Arthur J. Quirion, 82, of Oxford Street died on Dec. 20, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta, after a long illness.He was born in Augusta on Oct. 26, 1923, the son of Aime Quirion and Yvonne (Lavallee) Quirion.Mr. Quirion was educated in Augusta and served honorably in the Army during World War II.Prior to his retirement, he was employed by State Cable TV for more than 30 years. Prior to that, he owned and operated Art's Radio & TV for 10 years. Mr. Quirion also worked for Hudson Pulp & Paper Co. and Edwards Manufacturing Co. for several years.He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of American Legion Post 2 of Augusta.Mr. Quirion was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Donald Quirion.Surviving is his wife, Germaine (Gagnon) Quirion of Augusta; one son, Kenneth P. Quirion and his wife, Nona, of East Vassalboro; one brother, Edmond Quirion and his wife, Ann, of Augusta; one granddaughter, Devon Redman and her husband, Ryan; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Redman; and several nieces and nephews.There will be no public visiting hours. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
