DALBEC, GEORGIANNA 'DIXIE' LEE Georgianna L. Dalbec, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died unexpectedly Oct. 9, 2005, at the young age of 62. A celebration of life was held Thursday Oct. 13 at White City Christian Church in White City. Dixie, as she was better known to most was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, to Roy and Mary Martha Raby. Dixie was the older of two girls, her sister Roylene "Tamie" Neal survives. Dixie graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and later married Gene A. Dalbec, Sr. and moved to Oregon with her family in 1978. Dixie worked hard through her life supporting and raising her four boys. When her three grandsons came into her life she felt her life was fulfilled. Dixie loved working with children and was truly dedicated to her church, her worship and love for the Lord. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, friend and most of all a wonderful and great woman. If you needed someone to make you smile, she was there. If you needed a shoulder to cry on, she was there. If you needed to just have a friendly smile around, her smile was always there. I wish that the world could have met this woman. Mom, we miss having you around and hearing your laugh, seeing you smile and feeling your hugs, but we know that you are smiling, singing and praising God in your new mansion. Survivors include her husband, Gene Dalbec, Sr. of Central Point; sons, Brian of Arizona, Gene, Jr. and Todd of Central Point; Brent of Portland; three grandsons; sisters, Roylene of Fredricktown, Ohio; Karen Merriman of Temperance, Mich.; brothers, Joe Wright of Albuquerque, N.M.; Roy Raby, Jr. of North Carolina; Roger Raby of Temperance, Mich.; Wayne Hoover of Bucyrus, Ohio; Ronnie Hoover of Abilene, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gene Raby. Remembrances can be made to your favorite pre-school. Arrangements provided by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives of Medford.
