Bernice REGNIER

Bernice Beland Kankakee, IL -- Visitation for Bernice Beland, 88, of Kankakee, will be from 9-10:45 a.m. Friday at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, West Kankakee. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, where she was a member. Rev. Charles Wheeler will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church or for Masses. She died Tuesday (Sept. 20, 2005) at Riverside Medical Center. Mrs. Beland was a chef at the 54 Snackbar. She was born July 15, 1917, in Beaverville, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Marion Regnier. Her husband, Walter Beland, whom she married May 2, 1936 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, died Sept. 17, 1980. She enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre; roses; and her family. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bob Sweet of Clifton; five sisters, Darlene Provancal of Midlothian, Jeannette Dressler of Bradley, Derillda Lawrence of Owasso, Okla., Rose Kaminsky and Marie Wallace, both of Kankakee; five grandchildren, Julie (Rick) Radtke of Clifton, Don Murphy and Jane Ann Murphy, both of Houston, Texas, Donna Gross (friend, Jim Lehmkuhl) of Clifton, Rob (Christiine) Sweet of Las Vegas; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are her parents, one son, one daughter, four brothers, four sisters and one great-granddaughter
