Lawrence E. Remillard of Gurnee Mass for Lawrence E. "Larry" Remillard, 88, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Hunt Club and Gages Lake Road, Gurnee. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee and from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Born June 14, 1917, in Lake Linden, Mich. to Alec and Elizabeth Remillard, he passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at Westmoreland Nursing Home in Lake Forest, Ill. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and retired in the early 1980's from ITT Harper Company in Morton Grove, Ill., where he had been a machinist. Larry, along with his wife, Catherine (nee Elfering), enjoyed traveling and coast to coast camping before and after retirement. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee, their Friendship Circle and the Knights of Columbus as well as the Gurnee American Legion. Larry loved photography and will always by remembered as having a ready smile and wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Ronald) Dunakin of Lake Villa; and his two grandchildren, Dean Dunakin of Chicago and Amanda (Kevin) Schmitt of Clearwater, Fla.
