Rolande R. "Rollie" McAllister, 94, of Andover, died Sunday, June 12 at the Sutton Hill Nursing Home in North Andover after a brief illness. She was born, raised and educated in Lawrence and had 15 siblings in her family. She was a resident of Andover for more than 65 years. Mrs. McAllister was a member of the Frye Circle Association in Andover as well as an active member of St. Augustine's Parish. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She also greatly enjoyed knitting, sewing, and oil painting and family members said she was a kind and gentle person who was known for her outgoing and generous personality. She was the widow of John B. McAllister. Members of her family include two sons, John "Jack" McAllister and his wife Beverly of Nashua, N.H., and Ronald J. McAllister and his wife Judith of Elizabethtown, Pa.; a brother, Paul Rheaume; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Rheaume; 11 grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call today, Thursday, June 16 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Charles F. Dewhirst Andover Funeral Home, 33 Pearson St., Andover. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, Andover. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.
