KOOPMAN, Catharinus "Charlie", After a courageous battle with cancer went peacefully to be with his Lord and Saviour at the St. Catharines General Hospital, on Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at the age of 73 years. Loving husband and best friend of Gert ie. Dear father of Marion and Rob Hassebroek, Lorraine and Ron Strychar, Ed and Cathy Koopman, and Jim Koopman. Dear Opa of Jason, Michael, Kevin, Jackie, Johnathan, Kristyn and Lauren. Survived by two brothers Oene and Klein Koopman and Wietse and L eens Koopman in The Netherlands. Predeceased by four brothers. Charlie was employed with General Motors for 33 years, retiring in 1988. The family would like to thank Drs. Sawula and Giesbrecht, Julie, the nurses in Oncology and V.O.N. nurse Carol fo r all their care and support. The family will receive friends at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 278 Parnell Road, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in church on Saturday, January 17, 2004, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Niag ara Lake Shore Cemetery.
