George Washington Riopelle, age 87 of Cape Coral died on September 4, 2005 at Hope Hospice North, Cape Coral. He was born on February 22, 1918 in Detroit, MI.A resident of Cape Coral for the past 27 years, he previously lived in Detroit, MI where retired as a captain with the City Fire Department. He also served during WW II with the Marines.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anne V. Riopelle, his children, Ronald B. (Barbara) Riopelle of Cape Coral and Jill Kelsey of Birmingham, MI, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and his sister, Mary Lietz of Roseville, MI.A funeral service will be conducted (TODAY) Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 11:30 AM in the Cape Coral Memorial Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. where the family will receive friends after 10:00 AM.
