Liette Lorette RIOUX

SCHILLING, LIETTE LORETTE, 64 - of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Galloway Township, was called into God's embrace on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at her home after a brave battle against metastatic breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Helene Rioux and her daughter and "shadow", Helen E. Schilling. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 43 years, Wilfried A. Schilling; daughter and son in law Sylvie and Michael Peterson of Roanoke, VA; son and daughter in law Michel and Carol Schilling of Fredericksburg, VA, and five grandchildren. Liette was born in Beaupre, Canada on March 6, 1941, the ninth of ten children. She spent her life as a devoted wife and nurturing mother, taking special care of her daughter, Helen, through a lengthy terminal illness. Liette was a doting "Grandmaman" to her grandchildren. She fought bravely in the hopes of continuing to spend time with the grandchildren she loved and adored so much. Even in her final weeks, she was more concerned about her family's health than her own. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at St. Andrews Catholic Church on Friday, September 2, 2005 at 10:30 AM.
