Helen I. Robertson Bertrand of Wappingers Falls, and formerly of White Plains, NY, died August 27, 2005. She was 86. She was born April 11, 1919 in Hoboken, NJ to the late Lawrence D. and Sophia Hansen Robertson. She was a graduate of White Plains HS. On April 25, 1937 she married John J. Bertrand. He predeceased her in 1982. Helen was a school crossing guard for the City of White Plains, and also worked in the cafeteria at White Plains High School. She was also on the White Plains Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by nine children, Mary Tocidlowski (Stanley) of Wilmington, NC, Helen Martinetti (Thomas) of White Plains, NY, Grace Deich (Donald) of Wilmington, NC, John J. Bertrand (Janet) of Valhalla, NY, Richard Bertrand (Ruthann) of Dover Plains, NY, Joan Arrigo (Thomas) of Broomfield, CO, Barbara Trier (Donald) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Joseph Bertrand (Catherine) of White Plains, NY, and Charles Bertrand (Elizabeth) of Longwood, FL. Also surviving are two brothers, Lawrence and Robert Robertson, and two sisters, Marian Gollner and Margaret Lowden, all of White Plains. Her 20 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren also survive, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Charles and John Peter Robertson, and two sisters, Anna Hobson and Sophia Robertson. Visiting hours will be Tuesday and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday September 1, 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, White Plains. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
