Raymond “Red” Francis Robichaud, 77, of 121 Stoney Ridge Rd., Ripon, passed away on Thursday evening, June 16, 2005, at his home.Raymond was born on June 4, 1928, in Crystal Falls, Upper Michigan, the son of Raymond O. and Katherine (Biswabic) Robichaud. Red graduated from high school in Crystal Falls and had played on the UP Championship High School Basketball Team. He served his country in the Army in Germany from 1950-1952. On Aug. 4, 1956, he married Jean Carrier in Fond du Lac, and they have lived in Ripon since 1960. Upon moving to Ripon, he became chef at Ripon College for 2-3 years. Then until his retirement, Red was owner/chef at the Ripon A&W for 24 years.He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the American Legion. Gardening and fishing were his favorite pastimes.Survivors include his wife, Jean of Ripon; five children, Mike (Anne) of Waukesha, Mark (Kathy) of Ripon, Byron of Phoenix, Ariz., Jon (Karen) of New Port Richey, Fla., and Cathy (Mark) Philipsky of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Brady and Trevor of Ripon, Megan, Rachel and Tyler of New Port Richey and Connor of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Mary Jena Robichaud and Joyce (Dr. Tom) Rulon of Spokane, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents.• Services: A prayer service for Raymond “Red” Robichaud will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Father Robert A. Fictum officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.• Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
