METHUEN -- Juliette O. (Roullier) Hughes, 94, of Methuen, formerly of New Bedford and South Dartmouth, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at the Nevins Home. She was the widow of Lorin C. Hughes Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Domina and Angeline (Alexandre) Roullier. She was a reed girl and weaver for many years at the Taber Mill in New Bedford. Mrs. Hughes was a former member of St. Mary's Church and Sacred Heart Church. She was active with Elder Affairs and was a great athlete, competing in the adult women's league on the Swallows baseball team in the 1920s. She also played softball and basketball and loved to roller-skate. Survivors include two sons, Michael Hughes and his wife, Donna, of Methuen and Peter Hughes and his wife, Dianne, of Guilford, Conn.; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are by Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover.
