Jerry L. ROUSSEL

Roussel, Jerry L., -- Bridgeport, Michigan. -- Passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center Cooper. Age 62 years. Jerry L. Roussel was born on March 29, 1943 in Flint, Michigan to the late Charles and Vivian Roussel. He married Anita Reyes on December 5, 1964 in Saginaw. She survives him. Jerry was employed with Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring after 32 years of service. He was a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Judo and was nationally ranked as the Mid-Western Champion. Jerry was a member of the Agape Faith Fellowship Church. Surviving besides his wife, Anita are one son and two daughters, Jay (Amy) Roussel, Lisa (Jose) Monsibais, Michelle (Fred) Cavazos; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Elsa) Roussel; a sister, Brenda (Jim) Luczek and sister-in-law, Jan Roussel. Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Roussel. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at The Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). Rev. Jay J. Roussel will officiate. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Red Cross, Hurricane Katrina.
