SACO -- Rita C. Hayes, 80, a resident of Seaside Avenue, passed away Thursday afternoon, on Dec. 15, 2005, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. She was born in Salmon Falls, N.H., on Feb. 16, 1925, a daughter of Ernest and Beatrice Bourgeois Roux. Rita graduated from Sommersworth High School, Class of 1942. She married her husband William F. Hayes on June 6, 1946. Mrs. Hayes was a home-maker who loved to spend time with her family. Her hobbies included knitting, needlework and crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her dogs. Mrs. Hayes was a parishioner of St. Margaret's Church in Old Orchard Beach. She is survived by her husband of 59 years William F. Hayes of Saco; two daughters, Veronia Ronnie Steinsky and her husband Rudy of Moultonboro, N.H., and Donna Hayes of Ashaway, R.I. Visiting hours will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday from Cote Funeral Home, corner of Beach and James St., Saco. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday from St. Margaret's Church in Old Orchard Beach. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
