EMERY JOSEPH ROY Sr. UNDERHILL - Emery Joseph Roy Sr., 61, died at his home in Underhill on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 31, 1944, in Patten, Maine, the son of Willy and Olivine E. (Bouchard) Roy. On Feb. 5, 1966, he married Connie Jean Guyette in the chapel of St. Joseph Church, Burlington. Emery was a Master Mason for many years. He retired in June, 2005, due to failing health. Emery was a coin collector, enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends, and also enjoyed fishing and doing crafts. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie Roy of Underhill; their five children, Natalie M. Roy, Emmy Lou M. Little, Bobbi-Jo M. Brown, Emery J. Roy II, and Ramon Rodriquez, all of Underhill; his 12 grandchildren, Chrystal, Tiffany, Meagan, Kristina, Emery III, Samantha, T.J., Dylan, Destiny, Kayla, Ethan and Mayah, all of Vermont; his great-grandchildren, Mataya, Faith, Halie, and Jayden; his eight siblings, Kathline Nadeau, Annette, Narey, Madeline Matachum, Joseph Roy, Maryline Daley, Claudette Roy, Rita Germano, Donna Biasiucci; numerous nieces and nephews, and his special friends and true companion of more than 40 years, Alvin Gisnill of North Carolina. He was predeceased by his daughter, Venus Wesson, and siblings, Frita, Bertram, Billie, Reginald and Ronald Roy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Church in Underhill Center. Visiting hours are Monday, Dec. 26, 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. in Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction.
