Gerard M. ROY

Gerard M. Roy, age 71 of Notre-Dame des Bois, Canada, died peacefully Sunday August 7, 2005. He was the husband of, the late Yvette Jolicoeur Roy, and was presently married to Muriel Lachance Roy. Mr. Roy was born January 19, 1934.Mr. Roy lived in Brookfield and Terryville, prior to his move to Canada upon his retirement. He worked in the drywall industry for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Yves and Josee Roy of Middletown, Alain and Nancy Roy of Brookfield, Mario Roy and his partner Phillip of Mt. Kisco, N.Y., Roger and Darla Roy of Bethel, Charles and Dawn Roy of Roxbury, and Andree Roy of Terryville. Gerard has ten grandchildren and two stepsons, Peter Langlois and Sylvain Langlois of Connecticut. Mr. Roy also leaves several brothers and a sister in Canada.In addition to his first wife, Yvette, he was also predeceased by his stepdaughter, Josie Langlois.Funeral services will be held in Notre-Dame des Bois, Canada, Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 9:30 a.m.Mr. Roy will be buried at Brookfield Cemetery at the convenience of the Roy children.Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
