SNYDERS LAKE, NY -- Robert J. Roy Sr., 75, died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born and raised in North Adams, Mass., he was the son of the late Stanislaus and Isabell Roy. He has resided in Snyders Lake for the past 45 years. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by the Albany Felt Co. in Menands, Manning Paper Co. in Green Island and by the Norton Co. in Watervliet, from which he retired. He was active in the Korean War Veterans Association, especially in the effort to build the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC. He was the husband of the late Ila A. Seeloff Roy. Beloved father of Robert J. Roy, Jr. of Edgewater, Fla., Jeanne M. Clement-Jasiewicz of Schodack, David M. Roy of Snyders Lake and Denise A. Roy of Schodack; father-in-law of Linda Roy and John F. Jasiewicz; brother of Anne M. Roy of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:00 a.m. at St. Jude's Church, Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00-7:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Rubin Dialysis Center, 1850 Peoples Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
