WALLINGFORD - Yves J. Roy, 61, of 27 Bailey Ave., Yalesville, husband of Mary Ann (Perkowski) Roy, died on Sat. Oct. 1, 2005 at MidState Medical Center after a lengthy illness.Born in Levis, Quebec, Canada on Aug. 21 1944, he was the son of Monique Gosselin Richards of Springhill, Fla., and the late Philippe Roy. He had resided in Yalesville for the past 33 years and graduated from Wilcox Technical School. Mr. Roy retired from Allegheny-Ludlum Corp. in Wallingford. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church in Meriden.Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his mother-in-law; Anna Perkowski of Wallingford; one sister, Loraine Starwarz of Plantsville, also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins. Mr. Roy was predeceased by two brothers, Dennis and Jacques Roy.The funeral will be held on Wednesday Oct. 5, at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St. Meriden, and at 10 a.m. at St. Laurent Church. Burial with military honors will be held in In Memorian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday Oct. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m.
