QUEENSBURY -- Irene R. Patnode - "Aunt Chick," 94, of Arberger Drive, Queensbury, and formerly of Rutland, Vt., passed away at home Tuesday morning, Dec. 27, 2005, surrounded by her loving family and friends, following a long illness. Born Aug. 26, 1911, in Rutland, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ellen (Morris) Russeau. Following graduation from Rutland High School and from the Rutland Hospital School of Nursing, Irene took employment at the Rutland Hospital as a registered nurse for many dedicated years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Glens Falls. At Irene's request there will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Glens Falls. The family has suggested in lieu of flowers or donations, that you "pay it forward," by doing a kind act or deed for a relative or friend, in loving memory of Irene. Toby and Tim would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of High Peaks Hospice for their care and devotion given to Irene, and to her faithful friend, Lois King, for always being there "twenty-four seven." All your time and compassion given to "Aunt Chick" was truly appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.Published in the Post-Star from 12/28/2005 - 12/29/2005.
