Gertrude ""Gertie' DeGagne, 90, Grand Forks, ND, died Monday December 27, 2004 in 4000 Valley Square, Grand Forks. Gertrude Sannes was born April 10, 1914 the daughter of Salve and Tarjar (Reisland) Sannes in Grand Forks, ND. She was educated in Grand Forks, ND. She moved with her family to East Grand Forks, MN in 1928. Gertrude married Charles A. DeGagne on November 17, 1937 in Crookston, MN. Following their marriage, they moved to East Grand Forks, MN. She was employed as a presser and seamstress by Busy Bee Cleaners, Grossman's Cleaners and Hour Glass Cleaners, all of Grand Forks, ND. Charles preceded her in death in 1978. In 1997 Gertrude moved to Grand Forks, ND, where she resided until her death. She is survived by her son, Glen (Pat) DeGagne, Anaheim, CA; sisters, Helga Anderson, Grand Forks, ND, Selma Espinosa, Sacramento, CA, Julia (Orvin) Upsahl, Seattle, WA; brothers, Halvor, Grand Forks, ND, Tor, East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren, Pam (Dan) Murray, Laurie (Richard) Mendenhall, Mary DeGagne, Micah Garber; great grandchildren, Ashley Murray, Matthew Murray, Nicole Simmons,Ryan Mendenhall and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by, her husband, Charles; a daughter, Marian Garber; a son Clinton ""Peewee'; brothers, Dreng and Tharald and her parents. Services: 2:00 P.M. Monday in the Gregory J. Norman-Norman Funeral Home Chapel, So Washington St. Visitation: One hour before funeral services in the chapel on Monday.
