WEATHERSFIELD — Earle J. Saucier, 85, formerly of Weathersfield, Vermont, died Monday, December 26, 2005, at Cedar Hill Continuing Care Center, after a period of failing health.He was born in Springfield, Vermont, on June 28, 1920, to James and Victorine (Bonneau) Saucier. He was a 1941 graduate of Springfield High School and was employed as a machinist by Fellows Gear Shaper for 30 years. He was married to Esther Lawrence, who died in 1992. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Louis Saucier and Norman Saucier, and a sister, Eleanor Wight.Members of his surviving family include two daughters, Betty Brooks and her husband Ronald of Weathersfield, VT, and JoAnn Theriault of Enfield, Maine; one son, Leon Saucier and his wife Linda of Strasburg, PA; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 30, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor, Vermont, with the Rev. Paul Belhumeur, pastor, officiating.Burial will take place in the spring in Ascutneyville Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 29, 2005, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan St., Claremont, NH.Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Hill Continuing Care, 49 Cedar Hill Drive, Windsor, VT 05089; or to the Ascutney Fire/Rescue, Route 131, Ascutney, VT 05030. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Roy Funeral Home.
